Copper tape Accessories

A copper Tape Accessory that is used to join two or more Copper Tapes together.

Earth Tape Junction Square:The earth tape square is designed as a junction for Copper tape. This can be used as a straight through, 3-way tee or 4-way junction. The base is fixed by one centre countersunk hole and the top then secures the Copper tape by means of four screws.
Earth Tape Junction Clamp:The oblong junction clamp is designed to join Copper tape together in a straight position. Tape should be overlapped and secured by the two bolts.
Metallic earth tape clips:Metallic earth tape clips are designed to secure bare tape to the building surface by the means of one centre countersunk hole and two fixing screws.

Copper Tapes

High conductivity copper tape is used on both lightning protection and earthing applications. It is annealed for ease of use and has radiuses edges.

Copper tape has countless applications in electronics from creating low-profile traces for electrical components to RF-shielding and antenna-making. Copper tape is even used to join things together using solder, like the stained glass on Tiffany lamps. It comes in two forms; conductive adhesive and non-conductive adhesive.

Earthing Cables

Designed for use on earthing circuits within the ship wiring and marine industry 657 SW4 earthing cables are manufactured to BS 6883 and are double insulated for electrical safety.

The outer sheath is colored green/yellow for identification.

CORE IDENTIFICATION

1 core:Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, Green/Yellow. (Other Color as per specified standard can also be manufactured)

APPLICATION:
Domestic wiring cable. Can be installed in fixed installations in dry or damp premises clipped to surface, on trays or in free air where the risk of mechanical damage would not be an issue. Suitable for laying in conduit or trunking where mechanical protection is required.

Flat Cables

The Drincable cable is suitable for permanent immersion in potable water to a depth of 600m. WRAS approved, it will not support microbial growth, or affect the taste, appearance, transparency or colour of water. It will not introduce metals or toxic substances. Designed for submersible pumps for drinking water, depuration and chlorination systems, electrical installations in manufacturing, processing and preserving systems of drinks and foodstuff, swimming pool lightings, and other water treatment operations. Available as a circular or flat configuration.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE CABLE

Typically, the construction of an Aluminium or steel wire armoured cable comprises of the following components:

CONDUCTORS:Current carrying component of the cable.
MaterialPlain, stranded, compacted copper as per IEC: 60228
Aluminium, stranded, compacted conductors
INSULATION:The rated voltage level of the cable depends on the dielectric strength and thickness of the insulation.
MaterialCross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) Type GP8 as per BS
7655.
FILLERS:For providing circular shape to the cable, non-hygroscopic compatible fillers (wherever necessary) are included between laid up cores.
BEDDING:Extruded bedding serves as a bedding for the armour and as a protection for the laid-up cores.
MaterialExtruded PVC Type 9 Compound as per BS 7655. Reduced propagation flame retardant (RPLHCL)/R PPVC Compound for reduced flame propagation characteristics.
ARMOUR:Armour provides mechanical protection to the cable. It also serves as an Earth Continuity Conductor (ECC). One layer of round wire is applied helically over the bedding.

2. Anti-Termite: Termite resistance can be built in both types described above by compounding with proper additives.
3. Reduced Propagation (RP): Retards propagation of flame in fire situation. (Oxygen Index ≈ 30)
4. Reduced Propagation and Low Acid Fumes (RPLHCL): Retards propagation of flames and gives low emission of hydrochloric acid fumes. (OI ≈ 30 & acid gas emission is less than 18%)

The conductor is made of plain annealed high purity Class 5 Copper, having excellent specific electrical conductivity, and superior mechanical flexibility thanks to DuFlex conductor construction.
